We discussed PAMMs and welcomed Clare Woodhead from CHC Safeguarding and Quality, clare.woodhead1@nhs.net  and also Kelly Senior from Somerset Council (for feedback ASCcontractsandqualitymonitoring@somerset.gov.uk )

Next Members’ call will be Tuesday 5th December. Due to the RCPA conference there will not be a members call in November.

Laing Buisson have been providing insight and data for the last 30 years to the social care sector and is now proud to be developing a tool using data by providers, for providers. Please see attached (below) for more information. The tool aims to provide real time information and is aimed primarily at staffing costs. It’s free for the first six months. Please note the tool is currently available for care homes only.

  • National Early Warning Score

NIHR has recently published a plain English summary of research showing that the National Early Warning Score (NEWS2) can identify care home residents in hospital at high risk of a worsening in their condition. In addition, the research supports the use of NEWS2 in care home residents in homes.
