Skills Bootcamp Leadership and Management for the Health and Social Care sector. If you are an employer in Somerset looking to upskill your employees, the Skills Bootcamp may be for you. The government are funding up to 90% of the training costs. Skills Bootcamps – DSTPN
Skills Bootcamps are employer-led courses up to 16 weeks, for any business, small, medium, or large, upskilling current staff or helping to recruit new employees with specific skills at level 3 and above, for those over 19 years old. If your business has less than 250 employees, you’ll only pay 10% of the total cost of the Skills Bootcamp, with the government funding the other 90%. For larger organisations, you’ll pay 30% of the total cost of the Skills Bootcamp, with the government funding the other 70%.
Dorset and Somerset Training Provider Network have been supporting the Somerset Council in developing the Skills Bootcamps in various sectors and we are now keen to talk to employers in the Health & Care Sector. The Skills Bootcamp training programme content and delivery model is not driven by qualifications, it is driven by the business need. If you are interested in finding out more about the current Level 3 Leadership and Management for the Health and Social Care, please contact one of our Skills Advisers, Marie or Nikki who will be happy to explain the benefits to your organisation and how to get involved. - Update on SWAPs
A few weeks ago, we posted an item about the training provider Somerset Skills and Learning, and the Somerset Foundation Trust, organising a series of short training programmes aimed at recruiting people to work in the H&SC sector in West Somerset. It is based on the Sector Based Work Academy model which involves 2 weeks of employability training, an insight into the sector and interviews with employers. Also discussing the possibility of holding an event part way through the training where employers, training organisations, etc come together so participants can find out more about the different opportunities available in the sector. To make the programme possible they need employer involvement to guide the content of the employability training (skills and attitudes employers look for), sign up to the live event and support with guaranteed interviews. Thanks to members who have signed up for this, we will be in touch very soon with a booking form to progress this. If you are interested in SWAPs programmes, please contact hilary.robinson@rcpa.org.uk.
