Hilary, CEO, RCPA and Kylie, Trusted Assessor and RCPA EOL Lead, attended an SFT event “We need to talk about death” on 12th September. A fantastic day with many speakers providing updates and support for those caring for people at the end of their life. We learnt about the importance of spirituality, advanced care planning, oral care, and dysphagia as well as the management of someone at the end of their life and how we can make it as comfortable as possible. The highlight of the day was most definitely the film “We need to talk about death” which showed members of My Day Care services working collaboratively with a production team to express their views, feelings and personal experiences on death and the importance of taking about what is such a normal process.
