Government Guidance on protection of extremely vulnerable individuals in own home and care homes;
NHS Mail
Did you know that you can have an NHS email account? This will allow you to access the secure NHS email system to improve your communications with NHS staff in relation to supporting your residents and clients. It is freely available to social care providers. It also includes instant messaging via Skype for Business. Here is a link to some provider case studies; https://digital.nhs.uk/services/nhsmail/nhsmail-case-studies The benefits include; released time from frequent phone calls for prescriptions/discharge information, increased confidence in taking evening and weekend discharges into homes and improved working relationships across all partners. The RCPA will be supporting providers to engage with this opportunity as part of the Trusted Assessor scheme, but if you would like to press ahead and access NHS mail now, you will find information and guidance attached. The engaging two-part documentary which focused on Somerset, highlighted national and local challenges for care providers in meeting the needs of people in the County. We are proud to have contributed alongside providers and others, to ensure that the reality of care was exposed. The RCPA will be taking forward the issues raised by the programme with SCC and our members.
